Using White Dinnerware to Create Luxury

No matter what the meal may be, white dinnerware is the way to go. The clean, crisp and simplistic lines that are readily available naturally lend themselves to being dressed up or down. Fine linen napkins and elegant glassware are all that is needed to play up a table setting that features white dinnerware and it's all about the food anyway.

Want a little extra panache? Add cut crystal or napkins boasting metallic threads. Keep tablecloth colors soft and muted or skip the tablecloth altogether and let the beauty of the wood from the dining room table add warmth to the room. In this case, white on white is especially stunning for all of your other accessories.

Centerpieces or flower arrangements are another way to give your dinner party a refined touch. Pick a color from the food that will be served and repeat it somewhere within the flowers on a small scale. When it comes to flowers, it's important that the arrangement be low to the table so as not to block any of your guests view while they engage in conversation over the lively fare and decor!

An alternative to flower arrangements is a single open blossom placed neatly upon the napkin of each place setting. If you've gone with white on white dinnerware then here is your window for adding a punch of vibrant color if you choose. Craft stores carry a wide selection of prefab butterflies constructed of webbing, wire and glitter. A strategic smattering of these graceful little creatures is another tasteful presentation tactic.

There is no better way to make the colors and textures of a meal pop than by providing the proper backdrop. Consider white dinnerware your canvas for creative expression of your meals. By keeping the colors of your table subdued, attention is drawn to the masterpiece of the feast that you have prepared and the accolades are all yours.
